Petri votes to reprimand “You lie” guy

Rep. Tom Petri was one of seven Republicans to vote in favor of a resolution expressing disapproval of Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC), the moron who shouted “You lie!” during President Obama’s health care speech the other night.

Frankly, I find the rhetoric on the left about “standards of decorum” a wee bit nauseating, and more than a little reminiscent of similar accusations that Republicans threw at people who criticized Bush for wrecking the country.

I call Wilson a moron simply because he has a well-established record of being one. His campaign against Strom Thurmond’s secret black daughter, who he accused of “diminishing” the late senator’s career in defense of white supremacy, is maybe the best example I can come up with right now.
