According to sources, Katrina Flores, former candidate for alder and ASM student council member, has resigned from student government.
Flores was a member of the left wing FACES slate last Spring. The slate was unsuccessful and failed to capture a majority necessary to control leadership.
Due to new rules regarding absences, Flores would have been automatically expelled if she missed another meeting.
Considering the new rules, there will likely be more members to leave student government in the coming weeks or months. Campaigning, especially in the hyper-politicized atmosphere provided last Spring, is often a lot more interesting than the work done at ASM.
